Space Availability - Law Library

Study Room Rules

The study rooms are for current law students' use ONLY.

  • Do NOT lock the door
  • Booking Limits
    • Each student is limited to 3 hours (total of reservations) of a reserved study room per 24-hour period to allow everyone a chance to utilize the space.
    • Bookings are only allowed up to 1 day in advance.  For example, at midnight on
  • No food or drink is allowed in the law library, including the study rooms
    • Exception: A beverage in a spillproof mug/beverage container with a lid
    • We are in Louisiana.  Our library has had problems with (and we're trying to prevent future problems with): roaches, ants, wasps, other bugs, and other pests.  You'd be surprised how little food it takes to attract pests.  Please do not consume it in the library!
  • Please leave the door open when you leave.
  • You must check in to your reservation within 15 minutes of the start time for your reservation.  If you do not check in within 15 minutes, the system will cancel your reservation and you will need to make a new reservation.
  • If you leave early, please check out of the room with the link sent to you in confirmation & check-in emails.  This opens up reservations for your colleagues!
  • Adhere to all law library policies as well as law school student conduct and university student conduct policies.
  • Reservations are available for today and tomorrow only. If it is not available on the booking grid, it is not yet available for reservation.
    • The system "turns over" for the next day at 3 am.
    • Example: You want to book a study room for Friday morning.  This will become available at 3am on Thursday.

If you have a virtual interview and are looking for a space: Please contact the Career Development Office (CDO).  The CDO has dedicated space available for you to conduct your interview privately and with a secure connection.

Rooms 302 & 304 and Other Law School Rooms (e.g., 102 and 104)

These spaces are managed by the Law School, not the Law Library.  You can reserve these rooms here: https://ems.law.tulane.edu/Default.aspx

Study groups are typically considered student groups (i.e., you do not have to be an official organization to make a reservation), especially during study and exam periods.  Questions and issues should be directed to Christina Roux, carbour@tulane.edu

After typical business hours, our Circulation Desk will assist as we are able, but please be aware that you may need to wait until business hours.
